Roadmap

Phase 1: Pre-Alpha (Q1 - Q2 2024)

Goal: Lay the foundation for the game with core mechanics, initial story, and prototype features.

  • Game Concept & Design

    • Finalize the core gameplay mechanics, including combat system, exploration, and RPG elements.

    • Develop basic character models and animations.

    • Establish initial game lore and world-building.

  • Core Systems

    • Implement foundational gameplay systems, including movement, combat, and leveling.

    • Build the basic inventory and equipment systems (weapons, armor, artifacts).

    • Introduce early class systems (Flame Knights, Shadow Warlocks, Blade Dancers).

  • World Building

    • Develop the first zones for exploration (Obsidian Wastelands, starting hub, etc.).

    • Begin creating AI for basic enemy types (Shadow Beasts, Dark Sorcerers, etc.).

    • Set up a basic quest system to introduce players to the world and its factions.

  • Testing & Feedback

    • Open a closed alpha test to collect player feedback on core systems.

    • Implement basic bug-fixing and performance optimization.


Phase 2: Alpha (Q3 - Q4 2024)

Goal: Expand the game world and features, adding content and refining systems based on feedback.

  • Expanded World & Zones

    • Add new environments to explore, including forests, dungeons, and more dynamic areas like cities and strongholds.

    • Introduce new enemy types, including Titans of Abyss and mini-bosses.

  • Hero Classes & Customization

    • Fully implement all three hero classes with unique abilities and skill trees (Flame Knights, Shadow Warlocks, Blade Dancers).

    • Enhance character customization: appearance, abilities, and gear.

  • Social Features & Multiplayer

    • Begin developing guilds and alliances system.

    • Implement basic PvP mechanics (duels, arena battles).

    • Test in-game voice and chat systems for player communication.

  • First Boss Fights & Group Content

    • Implement early boss battles, including the first Lord of Chaos and mini-bosses.

    • Develop cooperative multiplayer content for guilds and parties.

  • Testing & Feedback

    • Open alpha testing for a select group of players to test new systems and gather feedback.

    • Focus on balancing hero abilities and refining combat mechanics.


Phase 3: Beta (Q1 - Q2 2025)

Goal: Finalize the game’s core content and prepare for an official release.

  • Full World Expansion

    • Complete the world map with additional zones, dungeons, and major cities.

    • Introduce complex storylines, quests, and side missions tied to the game’s factions.

  • Advanced Combat & Abilities

    • Finalize combat mechanics with smooth animations, refined enemy AI, and dynamic environmental interactions.

    • Implement advanced abilities and skill progression for all hero classes, adding new combat strategies.

  • PvP & Competitive Features

    • Expand PvP content, including Territory Wars, guild wars, and more competitive modes.

    • Develop a ranking system for PvP to promote competitive play.

    • Implement seasonal events and limited-time tournaments for extra engagement.

  • Economy & Crafting

    • Complete the crafting and economy systems with item upgrades, rare loot, and resource gathering.

    • Introduce an auction house or trade system for players to buy, sell, and trade items.

    • Implement an upgrade system for weapons and artifacts.

  • Story Progression & Endgame Content

    • Develop key story arcs, final faction quests, and lead-up to the endgame.

    • Introduce the first full-scale raid, featuring Morrax, the Overlord of Darkness, as a final boss.

    • Design advanced endgame content like world bosses, special dungeons, and faction-specific missions.

  • Polishing & Optimization

    • Focus on bug fixes, stability improvements, and polish for all systems.

    • Optimize gameplay for different hardware and platforms (PC, consoles).

    • Implement performance tuning for large-scale battles and world events.

  • Public Beta Testing

    • Open beta for the community, offering full access to the game for stress testing and final feedback.

    • Gather player feedback on balance, content, and multiplayer systems.

    • Final tweaks to combat, progression, and story based on feedback.
